The Name [Visuals] Starring Shastina Kumar
I want to give a big thank you to Shastina Kumar for helping me bring this visual to life. “The Name” is a bridge between East and West cultures, an ode to the NRI experience. And so I wanted to highlight this experience, but also the power that this dual experience gives us. I know the trend right now is to make fun of our own culture. But it feels like so many “influencers” are pandering to South Asian stereotypes just for the views. Our parents have had to work hard to combat these stereotypes and we’re setting ourselves back decades.
