Hailing from Vancouver, BC, The Global Party Starters were born when Juno nominated MC and producer A-SLAM met his match in the young DJ REKing and knew they had to join forces. Together they comprise a no-holds-barred MC and production crew who have been nominated for two Canadian Songwriting Awards, were recently semi finalists in the Unsigned Only Music Competition, and were the recipients of a Telus StoryHive Award. They have collaborated extensively with Platinum selling recording artist Elise Estrada  and have received heavy rotation on Stingray’s Hit List.

The Global Party Starters are Urban-EDM fusion at it’s best. They follow in the high energy footsteps of The Chainsmokers and Major Lazer, while pulling inspiration from artists like J. Cole, and Kendrick Lamar, maintaining elements of R&B, Hip-Hop, and South Asian musical influences. The theme of the track is to attack the ‘fake it till you make it’ culture that is taking over social media. It is a reminder that half of what you see in music videos and on peoples’ Instagram feeds, is fake.
